Join Friends of Sutter's Fort as we team up with California State Parks to present a two-night, family-friendly event allowing you to explore the nooks and crannies of Sutter's Fort State Historic Park (SHP) on your own, after dark!

Explore the storied rooms and weathered courtyards of Sutter's Fort SHP to find fun opportunities to learn about life in the 1800s and California history, including death and survival on the frontier.

Participants of all ages will enjoy fun opportunities to learn more about history. Docents dressed in historic attire will be waiting for you at interactive stations throughout Sutter's Fort, ready to share their spooky and disturbing stories from pioneer life in the 1800s.

For the past decade, Friends of Sutter's Fort has partnered with California State Parks to provide an opportunity for community members to explore Sutter's Fort after hours to learn about the more peculiar parts of life in the 1800s.

No food or beverages other than water are allowed inside Sutter's Fort.

All proceeds from Haunted Fort support the ongoing efforts of Friends of Sutter's Fort, which works to preserve, protect, and enhance Sutter's Fort SHP and to support the educational and interpretative programs at the park.
